Finnish Oil and Gas Federation The Finnish Oil and Gas Federation is an interest promotion and cooperation organization for its members, oil and gas industry companies operating in Finland. The Federation represents the oil and gas industry in matters related to energy, the environment, and traffic and transport policy. The Finnish Oil and Gas Federation is a co-operation organization acting in the interest of its member oil and gas companies. The Federation’s goal is to foster responsible use of liquid and gaseous fuels, to pave the way toward a sustainable energy future, and to forge an environment that will enable profitable oil and gas industry operations. One key aspect of this work is safeguarding the industry’s interests in matters relating to new legislation. This requires a continuous dialogue with those national and international authorities, institutions and organizations whose work has a bearing on the oil and gas business. The Federation takes part in legislative work in areas related to the industry by making initiatives and statements, and by representing the industry e.g.on committees and working groups appointed by the government. As an independent organization, the Federation does not involve itself in competition between its member companies or in labour market issues. The Federation was founded in 1970 under the name the Finnish Petroleum Federation. Its name was changed to the Finnish Oil and Gas Federation in January 1999, when its activities and services were extended to include the natural gas sector. ![]() Mainpage Back |
